Just in time for Nutcracker season, I published todayโs video yesterday on my channel, and in the video, I talk about bullying, mistreatment, and classless behavior in the ballet world from my own ballet school life experiences and observations in hopes of helping and encouraging Christian ballerinas like myself to be lights in the ballet world (and in the world in general) by showing the beauty of grace not just in our classical ballet dance, but in our characters as well both on and off the stage for Godโs glory. ๐๐ต๐ฉฐ๐ถ๐ค๐ผโจ

Welcome back to my soft pink world, P.I.M & PINK, for I am so happy you could be here! ๐ค๐ธ๐ค๐ผโจ
Today’s date and blog post is very special, as I will be acknowledging and celebrating my five-year anniversary of my blog, P.I.M & PINK! ~ Yay! ๐๐๐ธ๐ค๐ผโจ
Exactly five years ago, I created my blog/website, P.I.M & PINK, on September 20, 2020. However, I did not make my blog public and launch my first blog post until August 22, 2021. ๐ธ๐คโจ
Since then, I have been running my blog/website, P.I.M & PINK, to this very day for five years now, and I have written and published a total of 75 blog posts so far, some embedded with pictures, illustrations, Instagram reels, and/or YouTube videos of me talking or singing to you all in them. ๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐คโจ
Those of you who have been following my blog/website, P.I.M & PINK, for a while now, since its launch, would especially know just how much it has grown and expanded into other areas over the past five years. ๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐คโจ
For instance, take for example, the new addition of the official P.I.M & PINK YouTube channel! ๐๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐คโจ
Last year on my blog, I made a special announcement in my four-year blogiversary post that I would be starting a YouTube channel for my blog, P.I.M & PINK. ๐ค๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐คโจ
It was not until earlier this year on March 20, 2025, the first day of spring, when that dream finally came true. ๐ฅน๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐คโจ
On that day, I created a YouTube channel for my blog, P.I.M & PINK, as planned, and published my first YouTube video called, “Welcome to P.I.M & PINK! โก ~ MY FIRST VIDEO! โก“, which is in essence, a callback to my first-ever blog post on my blog/website, P.I.M & PINK, called, “Welcome to P.I.M & PINK Blog!“. ๐ฅฐ๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐คโจ

Overall, many of my subscribers, also known as my dear P.I.M PALS, which stands for pure, innocent, and modest pals, if you did not already know, have been supporting me and my blog, P.I.M & PINK, ever since the time I was posting purely written blog posts on my blog from 2021 to 2023, to the time I started posting talking and singing videos on my blog too from 2023 to the present-day. ๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐ค๐ผโจ
And so, with that being said, whether you have been supporting my blog, P.I.M & PINK, since the very beginning, or you have subscribed much later either to the blog/website itself, my blog’s YouTube channel, and/or any of my blog’s social media accounts, I truly thank and appreciate you for being a part of my soft pink world, P.I.M & PINK, for so long, and for showing your continuous love and support on my blog posts, videos, and content. ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐ซถ๐ผ๐ค๐ผโจ
Way before even starting my blog, there was a time when I was actually told by someone who used to be my friend that no one will care about my blog, and that no one will read it, after I expressed to them how excited I was to start my blog, P.I.M & PINK. Rather than support me like a true friend would, they instead thought it was a silly idea, and proceeded to verbally attack me and the rest of my interests for no reason like a hater would. ๐
Looking back on that, I realize how easy it would have been for me to listen to and believe in those words of that so-called friend and never start my blog out of fear that people would not care about it or want to read it just as that friend said. But instead, what did I do? ๐๐
Firstly, I ended that friendship, which that friend begged me not to do, and then I moved forward with starting my blog, which immediately got viewed, read, liked, and subscribed to on DAY ONE of its’ launch and so forth. So, obviously, what that so-called friend said would happen simply did not end up happening, which I knew would be the case, especially since I truly believed and still believe that my blog is a part of God’s big plan and purpose for my life to help and encourage myself and others who need it. ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ค๐ฑโจ
However, during that time of me not talking to that friend anymore, they kept on sending me messages apologizing to me several times for mistreating me and begging me to stay friends with them, and for a while, I ignored it, because my father and I both felt like they needed to really feel the โlossโ of me who was nothing but a good friend to them, a little bit longer in order to learn their lesson. ๐
And so, after a few years of not talking to that friend, they eventually sent me another long message after a while of not sending me one, and in that message, they apologized to me once again for mistreating me, saying that they missed being friends, and hoped that I was doing well. After asking my father if I should respond or not to that friendโs message, he told me that I should based on that friendโs level of repentance, and so, I decided to respond back and give them another chance at friendship, and they were thrilled. ๐๐ฑโจ
Once that friend saw that I went ahead and launched my blog to the world anyway, and had already gained many subscribers, despite what they said about it in the past, they proceeded to subscribe to my blog, hit like on my posts, and comment on my posts with positive feedback, which felt like they were making up for their past actions by showing me their support of my blog. ๐ป๐ค๐ฑโจ
Eventually, however, that friend completely blew their chance that I gave them at friendship again the moment they started to (1) send me comments on my blog posts and videos that were completely unrelated to my content to the point where I had to restrict them ๐, (2) make belittling comments to me offline about my blog AGAIN ๐, and (3) even go as far as try to get me to do things that go against what I teach and stand for on my blog, P.I.M & PINK, which is Purity, Innocence, and Modesty (aka P.I.M) ๐คจ. All these things and more reminded me of what that friend did in the past and is the very thing that made me end the friendship with them in the first place. ๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
If you were to go off of that friendโs likes on my posts, you would think that they supported me, but the thing is… some people may look like they support you, but then you realize in other places that they actually do not support you, for it is simply a head scratcher. ๐ซ ๐
Throughout my blogging journey, in general, I have experienced some people subscribing to my blog, hitting like on my posts, looking like they support me, but then turning around and making comments to me both online and offline that contradicted what I thought they supported me for. It seriously made me question their sincerity and their reason for supporting my blog in the first place, and I wondered if they even read or watched my material on my blog. It is one thing though for a stranger to act in such a manner, but it is another thing when it is a friend or a family memberโฆ for it feels much worse. ๐ค๐คฆ๐ปโโ๏ธ
Overall, my blog is very important to me, hence why it is also a very sensitive area for me. Like any blogger or content creator, there were moments when I would struggle a bit with comparing my own blogโs growth to other people’s blogs, even though I knew going into this that not all of the information I share is going to be popular because I am a Christian blogger who discusses topics like purity, innocence, and modesty from a biblical perspective on my blog, which for the most part, causes people to get really emotional towards what I say. And so, the last thing I needed was for someone who was supposed to be my friend try to make me feel like my blog was silly and unimportant in comparison to other things that were more popular or that they deemed more interesting. And so, due to my lack of tolerance for such behavior, I eventually ended that friendship with that friend once again for my own peace of mind. ๐๐ผ๐คโจ
And so, I said all of that to say, P.I.M PALS, do not let anyone’s negative words discourage YOU from starting or continuing something that God has put on your heart to do, whether it is a blog, a channel, a book, a song, a business, or any God-given dream of yours for that matter. As stated in Ephesians 2:10 (NIV), “For we are Godโs handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” โ๐ผ๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐ค๐๐ผโจ
At the same time though, be careful with who you share your dreams with, because you never know what someone, even someone who calls themselves your friend, is going to say in response. As Proverbs 18:21 (NIV) in the Bible says, “The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” And so, it is important that you surround yourself with the right people and influences who will actually support you, and speak words of life over you and along with you when you are trying to start something that God said you are going to prosper in. As Jesus stated Himself in the Bible verse, Jeremiah 29:11 (NIV), “For I know the plans I have for you,โ declares the Lord, โplans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. ๐๐ผ๐ธ๐ค๐ผโจ
And so, based on that, I have Jesus Who I love and trust has plans to prosper me and give me hope, as well as my family and other friends who encouraged me to start my blog, and have been speaking, praying, knowing, and believing that the words that God gives me to speak or write on my blog would touch others and bring them closer to Christ. In addition, I have also spoken words of life over myself in prayer to combat anything that has been said against me, which I encourage you to do the same. As stated in the Bible verse, Isaiah 54:17 (NIV), No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you shall not prosper, because Jesus is for you and He is all powerful! ๐๐ผ๐ค๐ผโจ
And so, speaking of touching others through the words that God gives me to write and speak on my blog, P.I.M & PINK, I have received so many sweet and encouraging comments and messages from people, thanking me and appreciating me for speaking the truth in Godโs Word in my blog posts and videos, for it truly touches my heart to see you all say things on my posts like “Amen, may God bless you!” “Keep going!”, etc. ๐ฅบ๐๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐ค๐ผโจ
It has been especially refreshing to come across and befriend more and more like-minded sisters and brothers in Christ from around the world, some who are also bloggers, YouTubers, and content creators, who truly inspire me and support me and my blog’s mission, for their comments truly encourage me and make me feel a little less alone in my pursuit of purity, innocence, and modesty, in and for Christ. ๐๐ผ๐ธ๐ค๐ผโจ
Overall, when I see that the messages in my blog posts and videos have blessed, benefited, and built up those who read it, watch it, and listen to it, it further goes to show me how important it was for me to follow God’s plan and start my blog and my channel, P.I.M & PINK, which reminds me of what is said in the Bible verse, Ephesians 4:29 (NIV): “Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen.” ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐ค๐ผโจ
However, even in those quiet moments when it feels like nothing is happening and I am getting little to no feedback on my blog posts and videos from people, no matter how much time I spend on writing them, filming them, editing them, and promoting them, I still trust and believe that God’s Word, which I incorporate into all of my blog posts, will not go void or go to waste. ๐๐ผ๐คโจ
After all, God says it Himself in the Scripture verse, Isaiah 55:11 (NIV) in the Bible, in which He states, “so is My Word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to me empty, but I will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” ๐ฃ๏ธ๐คโจ
In addition to this, anytime feelings of comparison want to start rising and lead to me feeling impatient with my blogโs growth, I also remind myself of one my favorite scripture verses in the Bible and that is Galatians 6:9 (ESV) which says, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” ๐ช๐ผ๐ธ๐ค๐ฑ๐ผโจ
And so, speaking of reaping something good in due season, in celebration of my five-year blogiversary, I said that I wanted to do something very special, and so, with that in mind, you may have noticed from the featured image for this post that I am for the first time ever wearing this very special T-shirt just for today, which has my blog’s name and logo on it, you see, P.I.M & PINK! You see it? Isn’t it so cute? ๐๐๐๐๐ธ๐ฉฐ๐ค๐ผโจ
My family also got me what is essentially my dream skirt to go with my P.I.M & PINK shirt! Isnโt it such a pretty pink skirt? ๐๐๐๐ธ๐ฉฐ๐ค๐ผโจ
For those of you that do not know, long story short, one day, while talking with my parents about starting my blog, the name of my blog, “P.I.M & PINK,” was born. My mother is the one who actually came up with the name, “P.I.M & PINK”, and I thought that it was such a cute and catchy name! ๐๐๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐ค๐ผโจ
In our conversation, my parents and I talked about how all my life, I have always been passionate about protecting the purity, innocence, and modesty of children, which is what inspired the acronym, “P.I.M”, in P.I.M & PINK, which stands for purity, innocence, and modesty, for they became such important values in my life. ๐๐ผ๐ถ๐ธ๐ค๐ผโจ
What inspired the word, โPINKโ, in P.I.M & PINK was not just my love for the color pink, but also the general and personal association that many people, including me, often make with the color pink. When people think of pink, especially soft or light pink, qualities like purity, innocence, and modesty come to mind. And so, with that in mind, P.I.M & PINK, being a very soft, sweet, and feminine blog and brand that focuses on and centers around my personal values of purity, innocence, and modesty, I thought that pink, as well as white, would be the perfect colors to represent and evoke such qualities and values. ๐ค๐ป๐๐ธ๐ฉฐ๐ฑ๐ค๐ผโจ
In July 2021, I designed the official logo for my blog, P.I.M & PINK. I remember asking my father what my logo for my blog should be and he told me that it should be a pink clam with a pearl in its mouth, for that is what came to his mind when he thought about my blog’s mission to protect and encourage one’s purity, innocence, and modesty. And so, I immediately began drawing the logo design on my digital art tablet, and I finished designing it in one sitting on the same day. โ๐ผ๐ป๐ธ๐ค๐ผโจ
And with that said, those of you who do not already know, the pink clam and the pearl symbolize my belief that we are all like pearls inside of a clam, pure and precious, but we always have to defend ourselves from anything that tries to corrupt, defile, or destroy us. ๐๐ผ๐ธ๐ค๐ผโจ
And so, on top of all of that, my mother gets this T-shirt made for me with my blog’s name and logo on it, and my family surprises me with it on my birthday, which was earlier this year in the spring. As soon as I saw it, I was so joyful to the point of tears, because it is a dream come true and a long-time vision of mine come to life that I would always draw in my sketchbook, for I am truly forever grateful to my family for this precious gift. ๐ฅน๐๐ปโ๏ธ๐ฑ๐๐๐ธ๐ฉฐ๐คโจ
I just want you, P.I.M PALS, to look at this as a sample of what is to come in the future, for I will be launching official P.I.M & PINK Merch one day, and not just cute P.I.M & PINK T-Shirts, but also lovely, elegant, and modest shimmery, pink skirts, and pretty accessories such as beautiful pink and pearl-themed bows and headbands with an adorable pearl in the center of them, cute and classy pearl jewelry, beautiful art and illustrations, and so much more, so please look forward to it in the future! ๐๐ปโ๏ธ๐ฑ๐๐๐ธ๐ฉฐ๐งธ๐๏ธ๐ค๐ผโจ
And so, with that being said, those of you who are entirely new to my blog and my channel, P.I.M & PINK, first of all, I welcome you to the soft pink world of P.I.M & PINK, for I am so happy that you chose to stop by my little corner of the internet! ๐ค๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐ค๐ผโจ
P.I.M & PINK is a Christian soft pink blog/website and YouTube channel created and run by me, Selene. The mission behind my blog is to encourage everyone to live a life of purity, innocence, and modesty, three virtues that are reflective of the Lord Jesus Christ and His Holy Word. ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐ค๐ผโจ
On my blog and my channel, P.I.M & PINK, I publish various written blog posts, some embedded with short-form or long-form videos of me talking about a variety of topics, mostly relating to purity, innocence, and modesty, which I am most passionate about. ๐ป๐ธ๐ค๐ฑ๐ผโจ
I share my personal thoughts, opinions, and experiences on the topics discussed on my blog and my channel, P.I.M & PINK, that I believe could show the importance of purity, innocence, and modesty in the midst of this impure, corrupt world that we all live in, for that is my personal burden and mission from Christ. ๐๐ผ๐ธ๐ค๐ผโจ

Firstly, I want to thank God Who gave me life and the capability to even start my blog in the first place, for He is the one Who stirs in my heart the right messages that He wants me to write, speak, and share on my blog and my channel, P.I.M & PINK, for myself and others to read or listen to, and I believe that He makes one’s tongue like that of the pen of a skillful writer, as stated in Psalm 45:1, so that I am ready to deliver those messages eloquently in my blog posts and videos. ๐ฃ๏ธโ๐ผ๐ป๐ฑ๐ธ๐ค๐ผโจ
Overall, God knew that blogging would be such a source of joy, passion, and healing for me in that it allows me to express myself through writing, utilize my skills and gifts from God, discuss topics that I am passionate about, and share my beliefs, thoughts, opinions, dreams, and experiences with you all, in hopes of helping, encouraging, or inspiring any of you. ๐ฅบ๐๐ป๐ฑ๐ธ๐ค๐ผโจ
Additionally, blogging gives me the opportunity to become an authority on the subjects that I am most passionate about, being purity, innocence, and modesty, as well as connect with a community of like-minded individuals who want to learn more about those subjects and see how they can apply them to their life. ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐ค๐ผโจ
All these things and more are what kept me blogging and continues to keep me blogging for so long. Back then, I almost did not publish on my blogiversary date, because I was going through a difficult time. However, I did not let my circumstance keep me from doing God’s will, for He gave me the strength to press forward with starting my blog, which is essentially my ministry. ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ธ๐ฑ๐ค๐ผโจ

Welcome to today’s very special blog post where I will be sharing with you my second YouTube video on my blog’s official YouTube channel, also known as the official P.I.M & PINK YouTube channel! Yay! ๐ค๐ธ๐คโจ
In my second YouTube video, I am covering my very first topic, in which I talk a little bit about spring break and give you some ideas on how you could spend your spring break as a Christian, just in time for spring break season! ๐ธ๐คโจ
Long story short, when making my second video, I have already started to realize from the minimal experience that I have so far as an “infant YouTuber”, lol, all of the time, energy, and work that goes into making, posting, and promoting a YouTube video, lol! ๐๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐ฑ๐คโจ
Everything from choosing the topic, writing and editing the script, filming and editing the video, to finally posting and promoting the video on ALL socials, lol, take a lot of time and focus, but I am not complaining, for I am determined to make only โจ quality โจ videos that bring joy and value to myself and you watching. After all, that is what makes it worth it in the end! Therefore, as much as I thought I would post this video yesterday on a Saturday, lol, I refused to take shortcuts and rush the process, and instead, I just spent the time I deemed necessary to ensure its quality. ๐คโจ
Also, I had some help from God and my family along the way as usual, which I am very thankful for. Firstly, thank You, Jesus, for always speaking to me, encouraging me, guiding me, helping me, and giving me the ability and strength to prove to myself that I can post my second video so soon, for this is truly the start of me posting at least once a week consistently like I want to, lol! God willing! If you are reading this, Father and Mother, thank you for all of your helpful input and feedback for and on my videos when I ask you questions like, “What should my next video be about?” and “What did you think about my video?” and “What was your favorite part?”, lol! Also, if you are reading this, brother, thank you for always helping me with editing my scripts and providing helpful feedback when needed. What was once seventeen pages can suddenly turn into just five pages because of my brother’s intense editing, lol! ๐๐๐คโจ

In this blog post, I wanted to share with you all some highlights of my blog, P.I.M & PINK, last year in 2024 and share with you all some goals that I have for my blog in the New Year 2025. ๐คโจ
So, without further ado, how about we start with a quick review of some highlights of my blog from last year, 2024?! ๐ค๐คโจ
๐ค So, to begin with, the first highlight is the fact that I reached four years of blogging and acknowledged the fourth anniversary of my blog, P.I.M & PINK, or in other words, my fourth “blogiversary” last year on September 20, 2024, in my “Happy Blogiversary! + A Special Announcement! โก” blog post. In addition, I also made a special announcement within my blogiversary blog post about two YouTube channels that I have planned to start in the future, for one will be a channel for my blog, and the other will be a personal channel. ๐คโจ
๐ค The second highlight is the fact that I got more creative and experimental with my blog posts, videos, and content creation overall in 2024. ๐คโจ
๐ค The third highlight is the fact that I started and completed a blog series of mine that consisted of six blog posts in total called, “Autumn Rambles ๐๐๐คโจ“, in 2024. ๐คโจ
๐ค The fourth highlight is “My First Song Cover! ๐ธ๐ผ๐๐คโจ“, which I posted on my blog, P.I.M & PINK, back in early September last year, 2024, for doing so only helped me further break out of my shyness to sing praises to my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, privately and publicly. ๐ค๐ผ๐โจ
๐ค Lastly, the fifth highlight is opening up a Threads account, which is another social media platform, for my blog, P.I.M & PINK, as well as a personal Threads account last year, 2024, in hopes of spreading my blog’s message and blog posts out there to encourage and positively impact more people. ๐คโจ
And with that being said, that is all for the highlights of my blog, P.I.M & PINK, last year in 2024, for let us move on now to the list of goals that I have for my blog, P.I.M & PINK, in the New Year 2025! ๐ค๐คโจ
๐ค For starters, my first blogging goal this year in 2025 is to cover more important topics relating to my passions and my blog’s main focuses being purity, innocence, and modesty, as well as post primarily “sit down and talk” style videos of me discussing such topics that I not only feel passionate about but topics that I truly love and feel called and led by God and the Holy Spirit to speak and share about sincerely on my blog, P.I.M & PINK. For one, in 2025, I will be talking about how righteousness ties with purity, innocence, and modesty, as well as how the fruit of the spirit ties with purity, innocence, and modesty. In addition, I have so many more drafts of topics that I am very excited to publish and finally share with you all in the New Year 2025! ๐๐๐๐คโจ
๐ค Moving on now to my second blogging goal this year in 2025, which is to post more Christian praise and worship song covers not only in my native language but in multiple foreign languages that I truly love and feel called and led to sing in by God Himself and the Holy Spirit on my blog, P.I.M & PINK. Even if I sing in at least one foreign language this year that is not my native language for one of my Christian praise and worship song covers, I will be happy, lol. After all, I am a linguist and such a lover of languages and cultures, so much so that I have always had a goal and dream of becoming a polyglot who is multilingual, or in other words, fluent in several foreign languages from around the world, so that I can speak and communicate with people from all around the world as well as witness to them and spread the Gospel, or in other words, “The Good News” to people who speak different languages from all around the world. For those of you who also love learning, studying, speaking, and/or singing in many foreign languages, I will share more of my foreign language learning journey with a biblical touch to it, of course, later on in the future on my blog, P.I.M & PINK! ๐ค๐ผ๐โจ
๐ค In addition to song covers, my third blogging goal this year in 2025 is to finally post at least one classical ballet praise and worship dance cover on my blog, P.I.M & PINK, which would be the first-ever dance cover I would post! Of course, I would also love to post more dance covers that I have planned after the first dance cover in 2025, but the key here is to see if I can pull off the one dance cover first at the time that I want to do it this year in the spring. ๐ฉฐ๐ธ๐ผ๐คโจ
๐ค And now onto my fourth blogging goal this year in 2025, which is to share more about my figure skating and tennis playing journey with a biblical touch to it as part of my “Prove it to Yourself” series that I started on my blog, P.I.M & PINK, in 2022. In addition, I would also like to begin sharing about my rollerblading journey that I started in 2023 with a biblical touch to it as well on my blog, P.I.M & PINK, as it ties in with my figure skating journey. โธ๐พ๐คโจ
๐ค My fifth and *technically* final blogging goal this year in 2025, lol, is to do something very โจ special โจ in celebration of the fifth anniversary of my blog, P.I.M & PINK, or in other words, my blogโs fifth “blogiversary” coming up this year in 2025! Just the idea of reaching five years of blogging ALREADY this year on my blogiversary date, September 20, 2025, is a pretty nice stretch, and a bit of a commitment. And therefore, I just thank God in advance for being with me throughout what has essentially been a dream of mine to be able to do for so long, even if there were some moments when certain people tried to make me feel small because I have a “small blog” that is growing slowly but surely. ๐คโจ
And with all of that being said, that is all for my 2025 blogging goals, even though there is technically still more, lol, for the list can honestly go on, but I will just keep the rest of the blogging goals to myself until it is the right time to share and announce them! ๐๐คโจ
Overall, as I have said in my fourth blogiversary blog post last year, I am just going to continue being me and encouraging myself and others to strive to live a life of purity, innocence, and modesty that pleases and reflects the One True, Living God, Jesus Christ, and aligns with His Holy Word, even in the midst of this impure, corrupt world that we live in, for that is my personal burden and mission from God, as well as what my blog, P.I.M & PINK, is all about. ๐คโจ
As the theme Bible verse for my blog, P.I.M & PINK, states,

And with all of that being said, thank You, God, and my family for all of the blessings in 2024 and the blessings to come in 2025, for it is my family’s tradition to open the New Year with prayer, in which we all pray to God together as a family after the iconic New Year’s Eve ball drops in Times Square, New York, and the clock turns midnight, the start of the New Year. ๐๐คโจ
Based on what my family and I prayed about and what we already heard from God in prayer that night, I already thank and praise God in advance for all of the healing miracles that He has already begun doing and is going to continue doing for so many people, including you reading this, this year, in 2025, as well as the years to come! ๐๐ค๐โจ
My family and I also prayed about laying down any burdens, regrets, fears, worries, concerns, grudges, struggles, strongholds, and/or desires in the past that could hold us back from moving forward and doing God’s Will for our lives and instead, we are choosing to move forward and press on with God even stronger than before, so that we can fully know and receive His Will for our lives and what He wants us to do next as a family and as individuals, which reminds me of ๐ค Philippians 3:14 (NIV) ๐ค in the Bible, which says, “I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” ๐๐คโจ
Additionally, I want to personally receive the comfort that only Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit give. The Holy Spirit that God sends is not just powerful, for it is also a helper and comforter that we all need. However, we have to be open to receiving the Holy Spirit. Therefore, that is my prayer and my family’s prayer for me. As Jesus said Himself in John 14:26 (AMP) in the Bible, “But the Helper (Comforter, Advocate, IntercessorโCounselor, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will help you remember everything that I have told you.” ๐๐คโจ
And with that being said, thank you, God, my family, my friends, and all of you, my dear P.I.M PALS, for supporting my blog, P.I.M & PINK, last year and all of the years prior! It has honestly been a while since I have done a purely written blog post like this, but in a way, it feels like home, lol. ๐คโจ
I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge my blogโs fourth anniversary, which was actually on September 20, 2024. ๐คโจ
However, I ended up not posting about my “blogiversary” that day because my sisterโs wedding actually fell on the same day as my “blogiversary”, and since then, I have also been very busy. ๐คโจ
And with that being said, I still wanted to take this time to thank God, my family, and those of you, my dear P.I.M PALS, for sincerely supporting my blog, P.I.M & PINK, for four years. ๐๐คโจ
Whether you have been here since the beginning, or you subscribed to my blog much later, I sincerely and wholeheartedly appreciate all of your love and support on my blog posts. ๐๐ค
I will admit that my blog has been a โslow burnโ over these past four years, for it has been growing slowly but surely. ๐ฑ
Furthermore, as a Christian blogger who specifically creates content about purity, innocence, and modesty from a biblical perspective, I know that not all of the information I share is popular, hence the phrase, “slow burn”.
However, rather than let that discourage me or make me impatient, I will instead continue to trust and believe that God’s Word, which I incorporate into all of my blog posts, as well as the encouraging messages that God puts on my heart to write, speak, and share on my blog, will not go void or go to waste. โ๐ผ๐ฉ๐ปโ๐ป๐คโจ
After all, God says it Himself in the Scripture verse,๐ค Isaiah 55:11 (NIV) ๐ค in the Bible, in which He states, “so is My Word that goes out from My mouth: It will not return to me empty, but I will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it.” ๐ฃ๏ธ๐คโจ
Plus, I always remind myself of the Scripture verse, ๐ค Galatians 6:9 (ESV) ๐ค in the Bible which says, “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.” ๐ช๐คโจ
And with all of that being said, my blog since the very beginning has indeed reached, encouraged, and blessed many people who need it from all around the world, regardless of it being a “slow burn”, for I am truly so happy to be creating content for myself and all of you that you resonate with and feel encouraged by, for it is truly my heart’s desire to do so. ๐คโจ
And as I have stated on my blog before, I truly believe that God’s plan was for me to start this blog not only to help me but to inspire or encourage YOU. โจ
As ๐ค 1 Thessalonians 5:11 (NIV) ๐ค in the Bible states, “Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” โจ

Overtime, I have also become more and more fearless throughout my blogging journey, considering the fact that I went from posting purely written blog posts at first to eventually building up the courage to posting videos of myself talking on my blog too. โจ
Recently, I even posted my first video of me singing and praising and worshiping God entitled, “My First Song Cover!“, on my blog as well, which honestly felt like another breakthrough for me. ๐ธ๐ผ๐๐คโจ
And with that being said, before I bring this post to a close, I wanted to make a special little announcement, for I will be starting two YouTube channels, one for my blog, P.I.M & PINK, and the other will be a personal channel with a variety of content coming soon, so please look forward to new and exciting videos, blog posts, content, and special events, coming your way in the future! ๐๐คโจ

Welcome to today’s blog post about the misconceptions of modesty.
Throughout my school life, I was in a class where there was always tension whenever the topic of modesty came up.
Oftentimes, the teacher would start the discussion and would encourage the girls in my class to dress modestly. The girls in my class usually became very defensive in these discussions.
In many of their responses, my class would make multiple sarcastic comments about modesty and “modest fashion”, similar to the following:
“I’m sorry, but I’m not trying to look like an Amish person.”
“I don’t want to come to school dressed like a nun, sorry if that’s immodest.”
“I am going to look like my grandma.”
“Hey guys, I should come in wearing a hijab!”
As these statements were being made, everyone in the class would laugh and agree with each other.
In many places, and especially all over social media, I have seen these types of comments being made by those who dislike modest fashion and towards those who encourage it. This is because “immodest fashion” is typically what gets more attention and is more widely accepted for its many appeals.
Immodest fashion is very popular because it is promoted as a form of empowerment for many girls and women. Nowadays, people are encouraged to wear what they want as a way to fully and freely express themselves. Immodest fashion tends to align with this more than modest fashion, as modesty is usually seen as a restrictive concept that limits what a person can wear, thereby limiting a person’s ability to express themselves. Meanwhile, wearing immodest fashion is seen as exercising full freedom over one’s apparel, no matter how scandalous. Given that immodest clothing can also be very stylish and trendy, more and more people prefer to wear immodest clothing if it means they can also be stylish and trendy, instead of wearing modest clothing, which they believe to be the opposite.
However, what some people get wrong or misunderstand about modesty is that they think it means dressing in plain, boring, or baggy clothing that lacks style and beauty, all for the sake of covering up. This common misconception is the reason many people roll their eyes when they hear about modesty or modest apparel. ๐
Fashion and modesty are not mutually exclusive. In other words, you can dress modestly and still be fashionable. Dressing modestly doesn’t mean you have to always sacrifice style and beauty all for the sake of covering up. There are plenty of outfits out there that are conservative, yet stylish.
The same is true the other way around. For people who believe in modesty and modest apparel, sometimes they can be too quick to turn down certain clothing that they believe to be immodest, simply because it is trendy or popular. However, though immodest fashion is very popular, not everything immodest is popular. This means that some things that are trendy and stylish can still be modest and can be worn without violating the concept of modesty. In other words, modesty has a much bigger wardrobe than what some people think.
With that being said, subscribing to a modest lifestyle in terms of fashion can come with sacrifices. As I said previously, there is a lot of clothing out there that is very stylish and trendy but is also immodest. If you are trying to wear only modest fashion, then you will find that there are certain outfits and fashion styles that you like, but can’t wear because they are immodest.
For instance, countless times I have experienced going to the mall and browsing through online stores, where I saw outfits that I really liked and wanted because they were so cute and so my style, but I couldn’t buy them because they were immodest, and therefore not to my full taste.
In those same moments, sometimes I would look for a possible modest alternative to the immodest outfit. Though, oftentimes, I was left even more disappointed and frustrated when I couldn’t find one. At that point, I’ve often thought “It shouldn’t be a big deal if I still wear it. The length/cut isn’t so bad!”. But because I value modesty, I knew that I would feel uncomfortable wearing the outfit because it’s immodest, which would ultimately lead me to regret wearing it anyway.
The point is, if you are trying to live modestly and wear modest clothing (which I strongly encourage), know that you will most likely have to make sacrifices for outfits that you really want, but can’t wear without compromising your values. Again, however, don’t be discouraged by this, and know that there is stylish, trendy, and modest apparel out there for you.
Though, this begs a certain question that a lot of people have when they begin to explore modest apparel: what actually counts as modest apparel?
For those who find modest fashion distasteful, they will often answer this question with their own questions or sarcastic comments about what does or doesn’t constitute modest apparel. For example, when my peers in school were encouraged to wear modest apparel, they would respond similarly with the following comments:
“Oh, so am I supposed to hide my shoulders?”
“Oh my, are her ankles showing?! How immodest!”
“Her arms are showing! Is that scandalous?!”
“My shorts are an inch too short. Guess I’m immodest!”
“So I guess you always dress modestly. Does that mean I have to dress like you?”
No matter how seemingly mocking or silly those comments may have been, they are still grounded in the genuine question of what is considered modest apparel. You will find that when attempting to answer that question, especially through people’s opinions, is that everyone does not share the same standard of modesty and ideas of what constitutes modest apparel.
Let’s look at a common area where we see different standards of modesty: school dress codes. Some schools’ dress codes virtually allow you to wear what you want as long as what you are wearing isn’t terribly inappropriate (like a swimsuit). However, some schools, such as private schools, have stricter dress codes where some things that would be allowed in most other schools, would be restricted and considered immodest instead.
The point being is that even official organizations, such as schools and workplaces have different standards of modesty. However, modest fashion is something that is not only limited to school and business life but expands to daily life as well. Since there is no “dress code” for daily life, it can be hard to determine what is daily modest apparel because as I stated before, there are so many different standards of modesty and a variety of opinions from different people on what is considered modest apparel. This makes it very complex to figure out which standard of modesty is the correct and/or most consistent standard of modesty, which causes many people to reject modesty and modest fashion due to not really knowing what is modesty and modest clothing.
So since there are so many standards of modesty out there, what standard of modesty should we abide by? Whose standard of modesty is consistent for everyday life? We can find the answer to those questions by not looking to people for the answer, but by instead looking to the person Who created the concept of modesty in the first place: God.
God is the One who created the concept of modesty in the first place, and therefore set the absolute standard of modesty. However, God’s standard of modesty is different from ours because it is not solely a specific dress code or a list of clothing and outfits that He deems modest. God’s standard of modesty involves more than our apparel and choice of fashion. It primarily involves directions on how to live our lives and express ourselves.
God’s standard of modesty can be found within the following Scripture verses:
1 Corinthians 10:31 (ESV) – “So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.”
Colossians 3:17 (ESV) – “And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
According to these verses, modesty is about presenting yourself in a way that glorifies God and represents His glory. This applies to not only our clothing, but to all forms of expression, including all of our actions, words, and behaviors. So according to God’s standard, someone who is modest is someone who is presenting themselves in a way that glorifies God through every aspect of their lives. That is true modesty.
And so, when it comes to our apparel, according to God’s standard of modesty, what we wear should present ourselves in a way that glorifies God.
So now that we know what is true modesty and what constitutes modest apparel, the question is now what clothing helps us represent God’s glory?
Unfortunately, this question is hard to answer because, as I said before, God’s standard of modesty is not a specific list of clothing that He deems appropriate. Even amongst Christians, this question is heavily debated. For example, my mother used to be a part of a Pentecostal church where it was considered immodest for women to wear pants. However, a church of a different denomination that I attended didn’t have an issue with women wearing pants and didn’t consider that to be immodest.
So, since even Christians disagree on what apparel is modest, then the only way to determine what apparel helps us represent God’s glory is by asking God Himself. And yes, I do mean to literally ask Him what outfits or fashion styles He deems modest.
Many of you may think that sounds silly to basically ask God “Do you like this outfit?”. But I assure you that you won’t be wasting your time when you consult God with what you think might be small in His eyes. After all, God is the One who commands us to present ourselves the best way we can (by His glory), which means that He definitely cares about what outfits we use to present ourselves to the world.
And don’t worry, reader. Following God’s standard of modesty and consulting Him on your apparel doesn’t mean He will have you wear nothing but shirts that say “Jesus, My Rock”. If that’s your concern, then you will be surprised that God has a great fashion sense, and I am pretty sure that the literal Creator of the Universe will know what clothes will look great on you and at the same time will not violate His standard of modesty. God knows and cares about every detail about us (Psalm 37:23 NIV), from the outfits we wear to the total number of hairs on our heads (Luke 12:7 NIV). He is our Creator after all, and He knows that we all have different styles, tastes, and interests that He put in us, and He finds it important that we express and shine who we are through fashion (and everything else) while glorifying Him.
One of the primary ways God will help you determine what apparel is modest by His standard is by giving you a personal conviction that corresponds to His standard of modesty and holiness. Either through the guidance of the Holy Spirit or your own conscience, God will guide you on what clothing you should wear that will both express the true you and represent His glory.
In conclusion, reader, you need to know that modesty is not just about apparel or fashion. True modesty is about always us presenting ourselves in a way that glorifies God, through everything that we say and do. When it comes to our apparel, we should consult God on what clothing will best represent His glory, because He set the standard of modesty. I encourage you, reader, to value modesty within your heart and ask God today to give you a personal conviction that will help you live a modest life. Living a modest life is one of the things God calls us to do. And so we must take up our cross, and follow His commandments, for that is the best way we can live and be a light for God.
